Erbium Records

Founded in May 2020 with myself, Kristian Birch-Hurst (Dadenii) and Josie Carder (Jay Carder), Erbium is an independent record label built around collaboration and experimentation.

I direct the visual and brand identity of the label, shaping everything from branding and record sleeve design to social media content and track visuals.

Our releases have defined Erbium as a platform for reshaping and reimagining sound. The label draws its name from the element Erbium — silvery-white, metallic, and malleable — a symbol of transformation. From the raw energy of the dance floor to immersive ambient soundscapes, we aim to craft music and visuals that balance intensity with delicacy.

Beyond the releases, Erbium thrives as a creative community, fostering collaboration and experimentation.

In focus

Logo Design

The concept began with erbium itself—the chemical element whose crystalline structure is symbolized by a hexagon. That hexagonal form became the foundation of the design. From there, I drew on the element’s periodic table symbol, Er, and explored how the letters could be shaped to align seamlessly within a hexagonal grid. The result is a logo that fuses science and creativity, echoing the unique identity of Erbium Records.

Sleeve Art

With 21 releases now to our catalogue… and counting! 4 of those being pressed on Vinyl, I have created the artwork for each release (besides Cain - Helios and HALT - Memory Fields). Along with the sleeve artwork this has included social branding for each release (profile pics, cover pics) promo content to advertise the music whether that be carousels, stories and reels and then also track visuals to be uploaded to Youtube. To keep a consistency throughout the artwork, a centre focal point is present - whether that be a literal centre label or a more abstract representation.

Social content

A curated mix of assets is created for each release — ranging from “OUT NOW” posts to track premieres, to promotional content highlighting the release. These materials may also include features on external media outlets, as well as event artwork showcasing the Erbium brand.
